Tracy Walker
On December 19th, singer-song writer Tracy Walker entertained the students with her coffee shop melodies--she even made up songs on the fly! Tracy has also been busy giving back this year by working with memory-care patients in our area. Check out the impact Tracy's been having, and take a peek at her next few shows. She'll be playing at Brew River March, April, and May. Shane Smith & John Hebbeler Today, Pacelli parents Shane Smith and John Hebbeler joined forces with guitar and upright bass to bring their country rock vibe to our lunchroom! A favorite duo among the students, Shane and John create a relaxed, happy vibe where the students can't help but clap and join in the fun. You can find Shane at Georgetown's newest live music venue, The Tipsy Cow, on March 2nd. However, if you're looking for a longer road trip, The Unofficial Shane Smith Band has been nominated for an award at the Mississippi Music Awards on April 22nd at The Landers Center in Southaven Mississippi. Congratulations! As for John, did you know he's currently on sabbatical from CCM writing and recording new music? Look for it to be published and released in early summer. What an impressive duo! Joe Marcinek On March 17th, Pacelli is pleased to host Joe Marcinek. If you're not familiar with the Joe Marcinek Band, each show features a different lineup of musicians creating a different set of music every night. The music is equal parts Chicago Blues, New Orleans Funk, Grateful Dead Psychedelia, and Jazz Fusion. Joe tours nationally and is most recently making his way across the country hitting Nevada, California, Iowa, Indiana, Illinois, and finally Cincinnati, Ohio before he heads off to Florida and Texas. Most of Joe's lineups will only happen one time making every night a can't-miss show. His group has featured many prominent special guests including Bernie Worrell (P-Funk, Talking Heads), Melvin Seals (Jerry Garcia Band), and many others. Joe released his 4th album JMB4 in the fall of 2022. Our final concert of the year will be on Friday, April 28th. Special thanks to all of our artists this year for sharing your talents and inspiring our students and to Kris Brannock and Julie Robers for making the Concert Series such a great success! |

Tracy Walker: In September, we kicked off the series with singer, songwriter, and independent musician Tracy Walker. Tracy engaged the students with her folk, rock, country, jazz and blues sounds (which transported the teachers and cafeteria volunteers to a cozy coffeehouse!). Tracy will be performing at BrewRiver and Braxton Rooftop this June. Jason Wolf: Following this, and for the first time in our series, the students enjoyed the unique twang of the banjo! Jason Wolf of the Rumpke Mountain Boys had every student stomping and clapping with his amazing strumming. Also a songwriter, and in addition to the banjo, "Wolfie" plays, resonator guitar,12 string, dobro, saw, harmonica, mandolin, and pedal steel. The band will be touring this summer from the East Coast of Delaware to the mountains of Colorado. Shane Smith & John Hebbeler: To round off 2021, guitarist and song writer, Shane Smith, as well as UC Professor and upright bass player, John Hebbeler, of The Unofficial Shane Smith Band with Michael Chandler, brought the sounds of country music to our cafeteria along with some Christmas cheer. Check out their upcoming concerts here! Jim Kelly: Keeping in line with the theme of Cincinnati's fantastic football season, in late February, legendary radio analyst for the University of Cincinnati and singer/guitar player, Jim Kelly, entertained the students with sing-alongs and music to keep their feet tapping. |
